Profession – insurance agent


Salesman of insurance policies, in other words, insurance agent: his mission is to help another person to understand why he needs insurance protection and assist him in obtaining optimal insurance program.

So, who is an insurance agent? Of course, first of all, insurance agent is a person, man or woman, who has chosen the profession of selling a hope and confidence for tomorrow.

Legal status of insurance agent is clear: being the representative of insurance company, his mission is to link the Company and individuals or organizations on insurance protection issues. It enables him to be well-informed on his clients’ business, their problems and hopes. If the insurance agent is professional to an extent that his advises contribute to positive changes in his clients’ life and business, than in future he may become their financial consultant and acquire stable business. In that case, why not to start business with Uzbekinvest?!

Economic status of insurance agent has intermediate character: he is no longer a hired employee, but has not become an entrepreneur yet.

Entrepreneurial nature of insurance agent’s activity has certain effect on his approach to his job as well: skills, business acumen, knowledge gained during work with policyholders cultivate independence, sociality and ability to run risks, responsibility and other important qualities, that makes him no ordinary member of the Company. I have started my activity as insurance agent in Uzbekinvest Company since December 1995. That was the formation stage of the Company, endeavor to attain significant place in insurance market. Creation of agent network became one of the most important stages in Uzbekinvest history. People able to create proper image of the Company, to work with clients in competent and convincing manner, to realize clearly the purpose of his/her job, who could always be on the top of insurance field, were really essential. Searching for new clients, competing with agents from other insurance companies is always interesting and useful. Agent’s professional qualities, his ability to feel subtly the situation in insurance market, to be the first and exclusive in work with his clients can be cultivated only in condition of competitive struggle. More than 12 years have passed since Uzbekinvest foundation, now it is surely a leader among all insurers of our Republic. I have been working in Uzbekinvest insurance company since April 2003. Generally, I started working in this field in 1995. In my opinion, Uzbekinvest insurance company is one of the biggest and leading in the insurance market of Uzbekistan; it does not even require advertising. Mainly, I am in vehicles, real estates, properties, health and travel insurance. I get into contact with clients very quickly. Company’s competitive and flexible tariffs enable to win tenders of respectable clients. In my view, in order to become a successful agent, one should have such traits, as persistence, broad outlook, awareness of insurance products, communicability, ability to attract other's attention and ability to evoke interest and loyalty of potential clients to buy a policy. Having worked in this sphere for over 10 years, I can profess that I like my job and do not regret at my choice. My job gives me a free timetable, piece wage, ability for self-actualization and interesting contacts with people.
